PWB Interconnect Solutions Inc. offers both an accelerated stress test (IST) system and a complete testing service with failure analysis. We have been working with several large OEM's, who are undertaking vendor base assessments, interconnect development activities. If you could relate your objectives it would help us to offer a proposal to accomplish these goals.
The process is quite straight forward: We need to initially discuss the types and levels of technology to be tested, with information relating to the products attributes. We will subsequently design and release a design file in gerber extended format, at no cost to the customer. We can support you with information on how the test vehicle should be utilized, in order to deliver the important understandings regarding processing variability, and also offer assistance if designs of experiments are planned.
Once the coupons/panels are produced, they are sent to one of our test service facilities in Ottawa. We complete a prescreening process of all coupons received, to determine the levels of resistance variability created during manufacturing, this indicates potential PTH plating, construction or print and etch variability.
Based on the prescreen results, a quantity of coupons are submitted to IST Accelerated Stress testing. A report is drafted that compares the products performance for plated through hole reliability and identifies if foil cracking or post separation are present, all results are related to existing baselines. All tested coupons are evaluated with thermographic analysis to determine the actual location of the PTH or post interconnect defects. We offer a full failure analysis capability, or coupons are returned to the customer for failure analysis.

We are receiving high demands for our test services, which in turn lead to system sales. Our primary focus has been in the PWB manufacturing environment, although the end use customers are now showing strong interest.
